Joy + Peace = Hope

A serene breakfast table adorned with a bowl of apples and pears, slices of bread, and a small dish of jam, accompanied by a vase of flowers. Natural light streams through a window, enhancing the peaceful ambiance.

Reading through this verse, I wanted the definition of abound. I don’t really use it that often, so I was wondering precisely what it meant. To be copiously supplied (often used with in or with): When a place or thing is filled with a large amount of something.

It’s amazing that we will be filled with a large amount of hope! Going backward, how do we get there? Through the power of the Holy Spirit. We receive the Holy Spirit when we believe. At that point, God fills us with all joy and peace. What is our part in these gifts, just believing. God and His Spirit do the work.

Even in believers’ lives, there are times of despair and hopelessness. There are times when it seems God is not listening. He appears absent. My dear friends, in those times, we need to soak ourselves in the Word. We need to find anchor verses that tell us who we are. More importantly, we need to see who God is.

If the only gift we ever receive is Jesus, He is enough. Being saved from our hell-bound race and being given an eternity of joy instead of pain should produce hope to handle today. God is good, even when our situation is not. He doesn’t change, and He is worthy of our praise, even in the darkest times.

God gives joy and peace and hope.
