I love mornings when I can have my windows open and wake up to the birds singing. They sound so joyful as the dawn breaks. Truthfully, when I wake up most mornings, u also have a song of praise in my head. I love that the Spirit living inside me is already praising God before I am even fully awake.
Praise isn’t just singing a song, however. Praise is marveling in God – who He is and what He does. It is awe and wonder that the God who created the universe cares about us and cares about me. I joyfully remind myself that I am a chosen daughter of the King and praise God for it.
The song Praise by Elevation Worship has a line that I love. Praise is the water that my enemies drown in. As prayer is powerful, so is praise. Praise God our hearts with gratitude. Praise helps recognize that God is in control and that He is good.
The spiritual forces can’t withstand a mind that constantly praises God. Reminding ourselves of salvation protects our minds. Living righteously will protect our hearts. Speaking or singing scripture will make the devil run.
So, keep praising God in all things!
