When I walked through the hardest thing in my life, God provided people to carry me through with prayer. I had signed up for a women’s group at a different church. We met once a month, and I was the host. These 8 women, whom I didn’t know before, came into my life at precisely the right time.
I was able to share with them, and they lifted me up in prayer. It had been years ago, and I can’t even tell you one of their names. Yet, God placed them beside me because He knew it would be what I needed. He provided a team of prayer warriors to bring me before His throne when I couldn’t even lift my hands to Him.
There are times when prayer is difficult. In the middle of hurt and pain, it can be almost impossible to focus on God’s promises. Sometimes, the only prayer that we can utter is help. He is there through it all – the prayers that flow smoothly and the ones that seemed snuffed out in pain. When we can not pray for ourselves, the Spirit will intercede on our behalf.
The habit of prayer is really just keeping a connection with God. He is so good. Praying with thankfulness of who He is and all that He provides brings us His peace. Allowing our hearts to rejoice, weep, and be angry can still elicit gratitude for who He is and how much He cares for us.
Prayer keeps us grounded in Christ.
