Put a Little Love in Their Heart

To be truthful, my mind can tear me down so quickly. I can start thinking about how everyone else has more friends than I do. Or, I am just not doing that great. It’s depression trying to draw me back into negative thinking patterns, and they are so easy to believe.

But God… God encourages me through His word. He places people in my life to offer encouragement just when I am about to spiral. Each encouragement I receive fills my soul and helps me to stay focused on who I am in Christ. I, in turn, try to be an encourager for others. In doing so, we can become stronger spiritually and emotionally.

God is the great encourager. His word is filled with truth and love. It is there that we learn there is no condemnation in Christ. We learn that our sins are forgiven and we have a purpose. He dances over us with singing and great joy. We are precious in His sight.

Sometimes, our emotions can get the better of us, and God’s promises seem distant. The church is called to encourage each other and lift each other up. Through the trials of through the joys, recognizing people and lifting their spirits with kind words can make all the difference in the world.

You are amazing, and I thank God for the person He created you to be.
