I truly believe that I am where I am when I am for a reason. I trust that God has a plan, that is a good plan and that I need to look to Him and walk in God’s ways. I pray for God’s wisdom and for discernment over my life daily.
Because I believe that, I very rarely worry. With that assurance, I can face anything. This verse is an anchor to my trust in God. I have walked through difficult times in hope and even joy because I know my Shepherd and He leads me. I just have to follow.
A recent sermon I heard talked about contentment. Being content with where we are is a gift from God. The amount of wealth a person has doesn’t determine their contentment. If we are discontent with little, we will be discontent with much. On the other hand, if we are content with little, we will still be content with more.
Contentment comes from trusting God. Leaning on our own understanding and expecting God to bend to our will instead of trusting Him is where discontent starts. Gratitude turns what we have into enough. It turns our eyes from seeking more to seeking Him.
Be content with God.
