High Places and the Holy Spirit

I find mountain goats amazing. Watching them as they seemingly walk straight up the side of a mountain with ease makes it difficult for me to look away. They defy gravity and take what is an impossible task for me and do it with skipping and joy.

I find watching people who are filled with the Holy Spirit amazing. They face adversity as if it is a walk in the park. They make trusting God seem effortless and it’s intriguing. They can take a crushing event and face it with joy and hope. They have a beauty that draws me in.

Every believer has been given the Spirit. However, not every believer will fan into flame the Spirit’s power. We need to be intentional. By reading the Word of God and praying, we can bring to understand the Spirit and learn to hear Him more clearly. By knowing the scriptures, we can test what the will of God is and then walk in it.

God puts out His Spirit on those who accept Christ. It is the Holy Spirit that guides us and counsels us. He gives us the power that raised Christ from the dead. It is through His power that we can skip among the high places with ease. Hope-filled attitudes and peace seemed impossible that one seemed impossible, can be ours.

Lord, take us to your high places.
