When I was trying to decide what to be when I grew up, I looked at what would pay the most money. When I got to college, I found out that if I didn’t like what I was studying, I didn’t do very well. So, I changed majors a couple of times.
When I had my first two children and went back to school, I decided on Human Development, Child and Family Studies with an emphasis in early childhood. I loved being a mom and I wanted to know more. It definitely did not make me money, but it did help make me a better mom.
I wonder what it would have looked like had sought God during my teenage years. But, He used my circumstances to mold me into the woman I am today. He created flexibility and availability to serve those that I love. He has provided for our family through a hard-working, caring husband.
What do we seek as humans? We seek worldly things – money, power, fame. What do we truly long for as humans? We long for acceptance, love and peace. When we seek earthly things, cannot gain godly things. However, if we seek godly things, we can attain both.
