Watch Out for the Ya Buts

Rabbits multiple quickly and so do the ya buts. It is so easy to make an excuse for our behavior by blaming something. And, the more we do it, the easier it becomes to not take responsibility for our own actions. It isn’t us, it is everyone else.

Examples: We are called to love one another. A fellow believer is in need. Ya but, Saturday is my only day off and I want to spend it with my family. We are called to point others to Christ. Ya but, there are others that are better at that than I am. I will let them. Etc…

The purpose of everyone’s life is to bring glory to God. We are called to be like Jesus. Many people will say they follow Jesus but they do not look like they do. With all of the ya buts, they look more like the world than Christ.

John tells us that those who abide in Him must walk in the way that Jesus walked. He is our example and whom we should emulate. Prayer was constant in the life of Jesus. He knew all of the scriptures. He gave of Himself and valued even the lowlyess of people.

What ya buts have crept into your life?
