Like My Father

I was once asked to teach a Bible study on “Making Your Children Mind, Without Losing Yours”. The person that asked me to teach said it was a study that could not be taught by just anyone. You actually had to live the principles. That was probably one of the nicest compliments that I received.

My children weren’t perfect but I did hold them to high expectations, not over the top but politeness and patience. And, they lived up to those expectations. Another person put it this way. “They were children that others didn’t mind having around.”

God has set His expectations of us. Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly. Three behaviors that are expected of us. When we strive to meet them, we are God’s children that others don’t mind being around.

Do justice requires us to notice when others are being treated wrongly. Being kind is not something that everyone does. Just looking up and noticing others feelings goes along way. Walking humbly is acknowledging that it is not in our own power but a reflection of our Father.

Look at the world around you and reflect your Father’s heart.
