When someone hurts us, we want to go on the defensive. Our thoughts immediately turn to all of the reasons that we are right and they are wrong. It is easy to villianize the other person and see ourselves in the perfect light.
Sometimes, we have been terribly wronged. Sometimes, we had more a part in it than we recognize. Sometimes, we are wrong. But, in all those times, we can still turn to God as our refuge. He is always there for us.
God gives us His song. When everything around us is in turmoil, He is always the same. When life is difficult, His loving arms are there for us. When it feels like we can’t breathe, He carries us through that moment. He is our strength and our song.
We are saved from our sin by His mighty right hand. We can trust Him with our hurts and fears. We can be scooped up in His arms and comforted. When the world is against us, He is for us. That is all that really matters.
The Lord saves us because He loves us.
