Not Your Job

As Christians, we are called to tell others about Jesus. It can be a scary thing. There may be ridicule or laughter. People may stop talking with us to avoid talking about Jesus. There are some consequences.

Maybe one of the biggest is what if they ask a question that we don’t know the answer to. We don’t want to be a bad representative of God so we don’t say anything. But, this passage tells us, it’s not up to us. It’s up to God. We are just supposed to try. The outcome is in His hands.

Peoples hearts will only change through God’s power. They must surrender to Him. As wonderful as we believe we are, anyone’s conversion is a result of the Holy Spirit and in God’s timing. Some will hear and “know” but never surrender. Some will hear and scoff. But, they need to hear.

God’s kingdom is made up of people from every nation. It is made up of flawed people who were saved through the power of the Holy Spirit because someone told them about Jesus. We are only a part of someone’s journey but be the part that shines for Jesus.

Be the someone.
