Sometimes I wonder if animals ever doubt their value or worth. Can they consider the way their bodies are made and understand how they could be different from others? I understand things like alpha male. Does that affect the overall image of themselves?
Man is different than the animals. He has been made in the image of God. He has been given an intellect that can contemplate God. So, we do contemplate God. But, along with that; we add comparison with others. We can think deeply but sometimes we focus on the wrong things.
In my need to compare, I lost my focus. I focused on what the world said I should be. And, guess what, I fell short. I could not fit in and it was exhausting. I suffered depression. I had feeble attempts to take my life. All because I used the wrong comparison.
Psalm 139 has been my anchor verse for a long time. In it are the words of truth that tell me that I am not a mistake. I was wanted by my Creator and He designed me just the way I should be. I have been wonderfully made. It has brought me such peace.
You are a masterpiece from the hands of the Father.
