The Grace of God

I would never…fill in the blank. Here is the start of a very slippery slope. Judging others actions by how you would react can reveal a heart that is prideful and arrogant. The truth is, that in that moment, we are judging and condemning the other person. That’s God’s job, not ours. That is sin.

Sinning is universal. Everyone does it. No one is guiltless. That is why we all need a Savior. There are certainly situations where we could not comprehend the actions of others but that should being us to our knees in prayer not place us on our high horse.Grace, getting what we don’t deserve, is a gift. There is nothing we can do to earn it.

Our good works are not what bring us salvation. It is only the work of Christ on the cross. It is far too high of a price for us to pay and we can never do “enough” to earn it. It is for everyone.

When we accept Christ, we stand justified in His grace. Not sin-free but changed and redeemed. We have been bought for a very high price so that we may enjoy freedom in Christ. Our sins are also redeemed and paid for by His death. We stand before God in Christ.

There, but for the grace of God, go I.
