The characteristics that I attribute to God are all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present and loving. There are many more but these are the ones that I emphasize when telling others about Him. Everything else I believe, hangs on my belief in these truths.
God knows us intimately. We can hide nothing from Him. He can do anything. He created the universe and everything in it. It holds together because He wills it. He is always with me. We do not have to wait our turn to gain His attention. He is a good, all the time. That is who God is.
God knew that humankind would be sinful and rebellious. He created us anyway. He knew that we would kill His Son but He sent Him anyway. Knowing our redemption could only come through His own sacrifice, He created us anyway. How great a love!
That is the God I serve.
